From Markdown to a share-ready document

Convert Markdown in three steps

The converter combines editing, preview, and download in one workspace so you can review the result before creating the final file.

  1. Add your content

Load an .md or .markdown file, or paste the text directly into the editor. You can keep writing and correcting it without leaving the page.

  2. Review and customize

Check the preview, choose a font and color theme, and add a header, footer, or watermark only when you need one.

  3. Download PDF or Word

Choose PDF for a share-ready result or Word when the document still needs editing. The file is created inside your browser.

Simple, flexible, and private

A Markdown converter built for real work

Local processing

Your document text is not sent to md2pdf or saved in a database. Reading, previewing, and file generation happen on the device you are using.

No account or sign-up

Open the tool and convert Markdown immediately. You do not need to create a profile, share an email address, or start a trial.

You control the result

Choose the file name, format, font, and color. No hidden watermark is added: one appears only when you explicitly enter it in the page options.

Common uses

Technical and everyday documents

md2pdf is useful for project documentation, reports, meeting notes, proposals, manuals, study notes, drafts, and code-heavy content. The preview helps catch structural issues before export, while Word gives other people an editable version.

Supported Markdown elements

The parser supports headings, paragraphs, bold, italics, strikethrough, inline code, HTTP or HTTPS links, remote images, blockquotes, separators, line breaks, bulleted and numbered lists, tasks, tables, and fenced code blocks. HTML inside Markdown is displayed as text so it cannot execute.

Frequently asked questions

Markdown to PDF questions

How do I convert Markdown to PDF?

Load the file or paste its content, review the preview, enter a file name, and select PDF. Your browser will generate and download the document.

Can I convert an .md file to Word?

Yes. Follow the same workflow and select Word. You will receive an editable .docx file that preserves the supported document structure.

Is my document uploaded to a server?

No. md2pdf processes the document locally in your browser. If the Markdown contains a remote image, your browser may request it from its original server for display.

Do I need to sign up?

No. The tool does not require an account, sign-in, email address, or personal information to perform a conversion.

Which files and sizes are supported?

You can load .md and .markdown files up to 2 MB. Pasted text also has a preventive limit to protect browser performance.

Which Markdown elements are supported?

Headings, paragraphs, lists, tasks, tables, blockquotes, links, remote images, code blocks, and other common elements are supported.

Should I download PDF or Word?

Choose PDF when you want to preserve the presentation for sharing or printing. Choose Word when you or someone else needs to continue editing.

Does the download include a hidden watermark?

No. A watermark is included only when you explicitly enter one in the page options before exporting.

Your document belongs to you

Nothing to upload. Nothing to delete later.

Text and files are processed inside this browser. We do not use accounts, databases, or remote storage for conversion. The site serves its own fonts and assets locally; a remote image in your Markdown is requested directly from its server so it can be displayed.

Usage analytics is optional and remains disabled until you accept it. When enabled, we measure visits and general actions such as loading the example or completing an export, but never send Markdown text, file names, or document content.
